Jespers, Oscar. 2 Probedrucke zu Paul van Ostaijens "Verloren Stad". Holz- und Linolschnitt auf glatten Papieren. Je von fremder Hand bezeichnet "Jespers". 1921. Blattmaße: 32 x 27 cm und 32 x 39 cm. Das Werk "Besetzte Stadt" schrieb der belgische Dichter Paul van Ostaijen (1896-1928) im Sommer 1920 in Berlin. Es gilt als eines der Höhepunkte avantgardistischer Dichtung. In Berlin gehörte Ostaijen dem Kreis um die Galerie "Der Sturm" an. Sein langjähriger Vertrauter Oscar Jespers (1887-1970) schuf die Graphiken zu seiner Großstadtdichtung. - Die Blätter je etwas gebräunt und griff- sowie knickspurig, ein Blatt mit kleinem Papierverlust (2 cm).
