IV/I, 724, 30 - Borst 238 - Carter-M. 399 - Schulte-Str. 38, 18. - "Eigentlicher Anlaß war eine 1766 erschienene Schrift des Berliner Theologen Süssmilch, der den göttlichen Ursprung der Sprache nachweisen wollte ... Herders Abhandlung machte den Weg frei für eine echte Sprachphilosophie, die den rationalistischen Begriff von "Sprache" als "Reflexionsform" dem einer "organischen" opferte, wie ihn die Romantik später aufgriff." (Kindlers Lit.-Lex. 719-720). - Exlibris um 1900 auf dem Vorsatz, leicht gebräunt, kleines Loch im Titel kaum sichtbar restauriert. *
