Am Sockel mit Klebeetikett bezeichnet: 16. BOTO Martha Boto schloss Ihr Studium an der Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, 1950 ab. Von geometrischer Abstraktion ausgehend galt ihr Interesse seit der Mitte der 1950er Jahre Kinetik und Raum. Ihre Objekte aus Plexiglas setzen sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von Farbe und Licht auseinander. 1959 zog sie nach Paris um. Bald spielte sie eine Schlüsselrolle in kinetischer Kunst und Op-Art.
