Gaston Balande, Französisch, 1880–1970– Landschaft; Öl auf Leinwand, signiert „Balande“ (unten rechts), auf der Rückseite mit undeutlicher Inschrift, 54,3 x 73 cm. ARR. Provenienz: Privatsammlung. Anmerkung: Balande studierte an der École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs und der École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen erlangte er internationalen Erfolg, stellte vielfach aus und erhielt bedeutende öffentliche Aufträge, darunter Entwürfe für die Ozeandampfer „Normandie“ und „De Grasse“ sowie Ausstattungen für öffentliche Gebäude. Heute sind seine Werke in bedeutenden französischen Museumssammlungen vertreten, darunter im Musée National d’Art Moderne und im Musée des Beaux-Arts in Pau. Das vorliegende Werk erinnert an eine sehr ähnliche Komposition, die am 24. Oktober 2025 bei Andrew Jones in Los Angeles unter Lot 115 versteigert wurde (Zuschlagspreis: 2.400 $).
