Sir George Clausen, RA RWS, britisch, 1852–1944– Bäume neben einem Häuschen in einer Landschaft mit Sonnenuntergangshimmel; Pastell auf beigem Papier, signiert mit den Initialen „GC“ (unten rechts), 16,7 × 26,4 cm. Herkunft: Nachlass von John Byrne (1945–2025). Anmerkung: Clausen arbeitete im Atelier von Edwin Long (1829–1891), bevor er nach Paris reiste, wo er an der Académie Julian bei William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825–1905) und Tony Robert-Fleury (1837–1911) studierte. Er wurde 1886 Gründungsmitglied des New English Art Club und 1909 Meister der Art Workers’ Guild, neben seiner Tätigkeit als Professor für Malerei an der Royal Academy.
