Provenienz: Sammlung von M. L. Lévy (gest. 1917); seine Auktion, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 18.–19. Juni 1917, Nr. 17, als „britische Schule“ (15.000 Francs an Fouline[?]). Anonyme Auktion, Christie’s, London, 30. Mai 1974, Los 11, als „französische Schule“. Privatsammlung, Großbritannien. Anmerkung: Das vorliegende Porträt ähnelt Lawrences verträumten Porträts eleganter Damen, die oft, wie hier, vor einem dunstigen Hintergrund dargestellt sind. Dieses Porträt, auf dem die Dargestellte selbstbewusst in Richtung des Betrachters blickt und ihr Haar in Locken frisiert ist, erinnert insbesondere an Lawrences Porträt von Charlotte Augusta Oom, geb. Papendiek, das am 1. Juli 2026 bei Christie’s in London, Los 177, versteigert wurde.
