Umkreis von Paolo Anesi, Italiener, 1697–1773– Eine Landschaft im italienischen Stil mit angelnden Figuren im Vordergrund und einer Turmruine im Hintergrund; Öl auf Kupfer, 15 x 22,2 cm. Provenienz: Paul Wertheimer, Bielefeld, Westfalen (erworben um 1930). Von dort durch Erbschaft an den heutigen Eigentümer, den Enkel des Vorgenannten. Anmerkung: Anesi war vor allem als Maler von Capriccios und Landschaften im Stil von Giovanni Paolo Pannini (1691–1765) tätig. Das vorliegende Werk erinnert stark an seine idyllischen Landschaften im italienischen Stil und ähnelt beispielsweise einem ähnlichen Ölgemälde auf Kupfer, das am 7. Juli 2016 bei Sotheby’s in London (Los 192) versteigert wurde, oder einem weiteren Paar, das am 24. Januar 2008 bei Sotheby’s in New York (Los 110) versteigert wurde.
