Spanische Schule der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts. „Küstenlandschaft“, 1954. Öl auf Holztafel. Signiert und datiert „J. Montfort“ in der rechten unteren Ecke. Der Rahmen weist einige Farbverluste auf. Maße: 22 x 32 cm; 36 x 44 cm (mit Rahmen). Licht und intensive Farbkontraste sind die prägenden Merkmale dieser Landschaft mit mediterranem Flair, in der sich traditionelle Gebäude und eine Veranda mit weißen Säulen vom tiefen Blau des Meeres abheben. Die Ocker- und Orangetöne der Architektur vermitteln in Kombination mit den Grüntönen der Vegetation die Wärme der Küstenlandschaft. Ein lockerer, pastoser Pinselstrich mit ausgeprägt expressivem Charakter formt die Formen durch breite Farbflächen und verleiht der Szene Frische und Unmittelbarkeit. Die Komposition knüpft an die Tradition der postimpressionistischen Landschaftsmalerei an, die den Lichteffekten und der persönlichen Interpretation der Natur durch den Künstler besondere Aufmerksamkeit schenkt.
