MANUEL HERNÁNDEZ MOMPÓ (Valencia, 1927 – Madrid, 1992). „Straße zum Meer“, 1984. Siebdruck auf Papier. Auflage 41/460. Mit Bleistift signiert, datiert und nummeriert. Maße: 65 x 50 cm. Hernández Mompó studierte in Valencia, Granada, Paris und Rom und wurde 1954 auf der Internationalen Ausstellung in Viareggio mit dem italienischen Schifffahrtspreis ausgezeichnet. 1957 kehrte er nach Spanien zurück und erhielt im folgenden Jahr ein Stipendium der Juan-March-Stiftung in Madrid sowie den Nationalen Großpreis für Malerei und eine Medaille für den ersten Platz bei der Nationalen Kunstausstellung. Zu seinen bedeutendsten Auszeichnungen zählen der UNESCO-Preis, den er 1968 auf der 34. Biennale von Venedig erhielt, sowie der Nationale Preis für Bildende Kunst des Kulturministeriums im Jahr 1984. Seine Werke sind unter anderem im IVAM in Valencia, im Nationalmuseum Reina Sofía, im Museum für abstrakte Kunst in Cuenca, im British Museum in London, im Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, in der Sammlung der Chase Manhattan Bank in New York und im Museum Winterthur in der Schweiz vertreten.
