DAVID CALLAU GENÉ (Cambrils, Tarragona, 1973). „Double-Sided“, 2010. Diptychon. Mischtechnik auf Papier. Signiert. Maße: je 68 x 48 cm; je 87 x 68 cm mit Rahmen. In diesem Diptychon beschäftigt sich Callau mit einem der wiederkehrenden Themen seines Schaffens: dem menschlichen Gesicht, dargestellt in einem figurativen Stil mit stark expressionistischen Zügen. Die Gesichtszüge entstehen aus breiten Pinselstrichen in Blau, Schwarz und Rot, ergänzt durch Spritzer und schnell ausgeführte grafische Elemente, wobei Zeichnung und malerische Geste miteinander verschmelzen. David Callau ist ein multidisziplinärer Künstler, der an der Kunstschule von Tarragona und der Massana-Schule in Barcelona ausgebildet wurde. Sein Werk umfasst Malerei, Skulptur, Wandmalerei und Installationen, wobei sein Schwerpunkt auf Porträtmalerei und gestischer Malerei liegt, die sich durch intensive Farben auszeichnet. Er hat national und international ausgestellt und Projekte in Städten wie Barcelona, Paris, New York und Tokio präsentiert.
