JOAN JOSEP THARRATS (Girona, 1918 – Barcelona, 2001). Ohne Titel. Acryl und Collage auf Leinwand, auf Holzplatte aufgezogen. Signiert in der oberen rechten Ecke. Maße: 14 x 18 cm; 24 x 28 cm (Rahmen). Joan Josep Tharrats war eine Schlüsselfigur der katalanischen Avantgarde der Nachkriegszeit. Als Mitbegründer von *Dau al Set* im Jahr 1948 zusammen mit Joan Brossa, Modest Cuixart, Joan Ponç, Arnau Puig und Antoni Tàpies spielte er zudem eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Herausgabe der Zeitschrift, die größtenteils in seinem eigenen Atelier gedruckt wurde. Er nahm 1959 an der Biennale von São Paulo sowie 1960 und 1964 an den Biennalen von Venedig teil; 1983 wurde ihm der „Creu de Sant Jordi“ und 1993 der Nationale Preis für Bildende Kunst verliehen. Seine Werke befinden sich unter anderem in den Sammlungen des MoMA, des Guggenheim-Museums, der Tate, des Reina-Sofía-Museums und des MACBA.
