Italienische Schule, 17. Jahrhundert – Susanna und die Ältesten Öl auf Leinwand. Maße: 105 × 120 cm; gerahmt: 126 × 140 cm. Neu aufgezogen. Eine biblische Komposition, inspiriert von der Episode „Susanna und die Ältesten“, dargestellt in einer Szene mit starkem erzählerischem und theatralischem Gehalt. Susanna erscheint in der Mitte, teilweise nackt und in weiße und blaue Gewänder gehüllt, während sich die beiden Ältesten von links und aus dem Hintergrund über sie beugen und so eine Komposition von dramatischer Spannung schaffen. Das Werk besticht durch den Kontrast zwischen den intensiven Rottönen der Gewänder der Männer und den hellen Farbtönen der weiblichen Figur sowie durch den Einsatz gezielter Beleuchtung, die den Blick auf die Hauptfiguren lenkt. Die anatomische Darstellung, die versetzte Anordnung der Figuren und der szenografische Charakter der Komposition spiegeln typische Stilmittel der italienischen Barockmalerei des 17. Jahrhunderts wider. Unsigniert. Die Leinwand wurde neu aufgespannt. Zustand: insgesamt gut, mit neuer Aufspannung.
