AUSSERGEWÖHNLICHES ÖLGEMÄLDE DES BEDEUTENDEN AMERIKANISCHEN MALERS HAROLD C. STEPHENSON, DER 1908 IN OHIO GEBOREN WURDE UND UNTER DEM PSEUDONYM „ABRUZZI“ BEKANNT IST. Er ist berühmt für seine surrealistischen Darstellungen der Nachkriegs- und Atomzeit; einige seiner Werke befinden sich im Pentagon (Virginia) und in anderen Museen. Ein eindrucksvolles Werk, das Einsamkeit und Verfall darstellt; seine Komposition wird von imposanten, ockerfarbenen Steinstrukturen und einer kleinen Figur dominiert, die einem einsamen Stierkämpfer ähnelt, wobei sein leuchtend roter Umhang einen kontrastreichen Effekt erzeugt. (Ein in seinem Werk häufig verwendetes Stilmittel, um Isolation und Mystik zu betonen.) Öl auf Masonit, unten rechts signiert, im hohen, vertikalen Format. Maße: 71 cm x 23 cm.
