Antoine Rigal (Französisch, geb. 1966) „Ein Vollmondabend…“, 2009 Bemalte Holztafel. Signiert, datiert und betitelt. Höhe 100, Breite 76 cm. Provenienz: Sammlung Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), Schriftsteller, Essayist und Kunstkritiker, durch familiäre Vererbung. Rigal wurde in Domfront geboren und verbrachte einen Teil seiner Kindheit in der Mayenne. Als autodidaktischer Maler, Bildhauer und Dichter entdeckte er die Malerei im Alter von zweiundzwanzig Jahren. Charles Schaettel, damals Konservator der Museen von Laval, förderte ihn schon sehr früh. Seine prägnante Malerei zeichnet sich durch Figuren aus, die an Comics erinnern. Sie thematisiert den Tod, Gewalt und die Suche nach Liebe.
