Joaquim Baptista Antunes (Portugiese, geb. 1953) „A besta“, 1992 Acryl auf Karton. Auf der Rückseite signiert, kontrasigniert und datiert. Höhe 51, Breite 33 cm. Profilierter und lackierter Rahmen mit einer Blende von 62 x 47 cm. Provenienz: Sammlung Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), Schriftsteller, Essayist und Kunstkritiker, durch familiäre Vererbung. Antunes, der in einer Bauernfamilie im ländlichen Portugal geboren wurde, begann Anfang der 1980er Jahre zu zeichnen, nachdem er während eines Aufenthalts in New York Chagall und Picasso entdeckt hatte. Vom Dichter Mário Cesariny entdeckt, ließ er sich 1987 in Frankreich nieder, wo die Galeristin Cérès Franco seine Arbeiten bekannt machte.
