Joaquim Baptista Antunes (Portugiese, geb. 1953) Löwenmann, 1993 Polychromes Holzrelief, Kunstharz. Datiert und signiert. Höhe 61, Breite 35, Tiefe 18 cm. Provenienz: Sammlung Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), Schriftsteller, Essayist und Kunstkritiker, durch familiäre Vererbung. Antunes, der in einer Bauernfamilie im ländlichen Portugal geboren wurde, begann Anfang der 1980er Jahre zu zeichnen, nachdem er während eines Aufenthalts in New York Chagall und Picasso entdeckt hatte. Vom Dichter Mário Cesariny entdeckt, ließ er sich 1987 in Frankreich nieder, wo die Galeristin Cérès Franco seine Arbeiten bekannt machte.
