Ghyslaine und Sylvain Staëlens (Franzosen, geb. 1960 und 1968) Der Fisch, 2007 Hochrelief aus einer Kombination aus Holz und lackiertem Metall. Signiert und datiert. Höhe 30, Breite 50, Tiefe 10 cm. Herkunft: Sammlung Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), Schriftsteller, Essayist und Kunstkritiker, aus Familienbesitz. Dieses Künstlerpaar arbeitet seit über vierzig Jahren „zu viert“. Ghyslaine und Sylvain Staëlens, die seit 1995 in der vulkanischen Auvergne leben, schaffen aus Vulkangestein, Wurzeln, Holz und Metall Assemblagen mit fast talismanischer Funktion, die zwischen Animismus und Volkskatholizismus angesiedelt sind. Ihre Werke sind unter anderem im American Folk Art Museum in New York zu sehen. Das Duo wird von Laurent Danchin in „Mycelium, génie savant génie brut“ (Editions de l’abbaye d’Auberive, Auberive, 2014) vorgestellt.
