Date: 1859 Description: A man with a fishing rod and landing net sits lonely by a wild river and stares dreamily at the opposite bank. The river on which he sits seems to be the only free band in the middle of a dense old forest. Behind him and in front of him, gnarled trees rise on either side, giving the image the aura of untouched wildness.
