In 8vo, mit zeitgenössischem Papierumschlag, ansonsten vollständig, 353 S., wenige vereinzelte Flecken auf sehr wenigen Seiten, Text sauber und klar, insgesamt in sehr gutem Zustand. Victor Guerin (1821–1891), ein französischer Entdecker und Archäologe, konnte dank der finanziellen Unterstützung von Albert de Luynes mehrere Reisen nach Griechenland und in die Levante unternehmen. Er hatte Rhodos 1853 besucht und sich dort vier Monate lang aufgehalten. Er bereiste ausgiebig das Umland und lieferte detaillierte Berichte über jedes einzelne Dorf.
