Mariano Benlliure Gil (Valencia 1862 – Madrid 1947) „Zigeunerin aus dem Albaicín“, 1914, herausgegeben von Campins y Codina, Madrid Signiert, mit Gießereimarke und Datum, auf der Vorderseite mit dem Titel „Aus dem Albaicín“ Benlliure modellierte das Werk 1914 während eines Aufenthalts in Granada aus Ton, als er den neuen argentinischen Botschafter Marco Avellaneda begleitete. Bei einer der zu dessen Ehren organisierten Flamenco-Feiern tanzte eine junge Frau, die Benlliure zu diesem Werk inspirierte. Später fertigte er einen Gipsabguss an und ließ ihn gießen. Ein Exemplar befindet sich in der Königlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste von San Fernando und wurde 2007 und 2008 in der Ausstellung „Mariano Benlliure und die Stierkampfmesse“ in den Kunstmuseen von Valencia und Alicante gezeigt.
