Christian Rohlfs, Ohne Titel, Aquarell aus der Sammlung Kirchhoff, Wiesbaden Christian Rohlfs, 1849 Groß Niendorf - 1938 Hagen, Abstrakte Komposition, Aquarell/Papier, 25 x 16 cm, auf Karton an oberen montiert, verso handgeschriebene Bestätigung der Schenkung vom Künstler an Tony Kirchhoff, Wiesbaden, Januar 1962. Kirchhoff war die Ehefrau von Heinrich Kirchhoff (1874-1934), ein bedeutender Kunstsammler und Mäzen in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jhs. aus Wiesbaden, dessen Sammlung in den 30er Jahren als "entartete Kunst" deklariert wurde und aus dem Museum Wiesbaden entfernt wurde. Nach dessen Tod wurde die Sammlung verkauft. Zu den gesammelten Künstlern zählte neben Christian Rohlfs, Künstler wie Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Paul Klee, Otto Mueller, Emil Nolde, Oskar Kokoschka, George Grosz u.v.m.
