Culmann, *1949 Billigheim, Bomarzo - "Der Schlaf der Riesin", Öl/Platte, 13 x 15 cm, signiert und datiert 1975, verso betitelt und bezeichnet, in Schattenfuge gerahmt Zum Künstler: 1964 bis 1968 besuchte er die Meisterschule und Werkkunstschule in Kaiserslautern (bei Helmut Göring) und von 1968 bis 1970 studierte er Malerei an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München (bei Mac Zimmermann). 1970 wechselte er an die Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (bei Walter Brudi). 1973 bis 1976 studierte er wieder an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München und wurde Meisterschüler von Mac Zimmermann. 1976 erhielt er den 1. Mannlich-Preis in München, dem Preis der Vereinigung Pfälzer Kunstfreunde und der Picasso-Medaille von Kaiserslautern; 1978 erhielt er den Purrmann-Preis der Stadt Speyer; 1979 erhielt er den Preis „Junge Pfälzer Künstler“ des Kultusministerium Rheinland-Pfalz.
