Von U.S. Grant als Präsident unterzeichnetes Dokument zu einem Postvertrag mit der Schweiz Teilweise gedrucktes Dokument (DS) als Präsident, eine Seite, 8,5 x 11, 6. Mai 1872. Präsident Grant ermächtigt und weist „den Außenminister an, das Siegel der Vereinigten Staaten auf dem ‚zweiten Zusatzabkommen zum Abkommen über die Verbesserung des Postverkehrs zwischen der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft und den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, unterzeichnet in Bern am 11. Oktober 1867‘, anbringen zu lassen.“ Am Ende ordentlich mit Tinte von Präsident Ulysses S. Grant unterzeichnet. In sehr gutem Zustand. Die Ermächtigung von Präsident Grant betrifft ein ergänzendes Postabkommen mit der Schweiz, das Teil der Bemühungen des 19. Jahrhunderts war, den internationalen Postverkehr vor der Gründung des Weltpostvereins im Jahr 1874 zu vereinheitlichen und zu verbessern.
