JAPAN, Edo-Periode, Anfang des 19. Figur aus lackiertem Holz Jahrhunderts. Dargestellt ist die Gottheit Kannon Bosatsu, die auf einer Lotusblüte sitzt, die wiederum auf einer hohen, gestuften Basis ruht. Die rechte Hand ist zu einem Vitarkamudra erhoben, die linke ist vor die Brust gezogen und schließt sich. Das heitere Gesicht mit halb geschlossenen Augen wird von einer hohen stilisierten Frisur gekrönt. Der klösterliche Faltenwurf mit weichen Falten bedeckt beide Schultern. Höhe: 45 cm
