BOLOGNESISCHE SCHULE, KREIS UM LUDOVICO CARRACCI (1555–1619) Die Vision des Heiligen Hyazinth Öl auf neu bespanntem Leinwand. Maße: 115 x 86,5 cm Dieses ausdrucksstarke Gemälde zeugt von der Übergangsphase der Bologneser Malerei zwischen dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert, vom Spätmanierismus hin zu einem lebendigeren und ausdrucksstärkeren Naturalismus, dessen wichtigste Vertreter Annibale und Ludovico Carracci waren. Die Komposition ähnelt besonders dem berühmten Meisterwerk von Ludovico Carracci zum gleichen Thema, das im Louvre aufbewahrt wird – die Vision des aus Polen stammenden Heiligen Hyazinth, in der die Jungfrau Maria ihn bat, ihre Statue während des Angriffs der Tataren auf Kiew in Sicherheit zu bringen, im Gegenzug für ihren Schutz.
