ZEREMONIELLES ARMBAND – Burkina Faso – Senufo Erste Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Kupferlegierung (Bronze oder Messing). Maße: 13 cm. Eindrucksvolles, offenes Knöchelband in Form einer sich nach außen erweiternden Spule. Dieses Modell verfügte vermutlich über einen Verschluss, mit dem der Ring um den Knöchel befestigt werden konnte. Als imposante rituelle Objekte wurden diese Schmuckstücke von hochrangigen Frauen während der Zeremonien der Initiationsgesellschaft der Poro getragen. Diese Objekte dienten zudem als Währungsreserve. Maße: 13 cm. Zustand: Spuren von Oxidation, ursprünglicher Stift oder Schlüssel fehlt.
