Gerahmt Das Gemälde weist in Stil, Komposition und Sujet enge Ähnlichkeiten mit der signierten und auf 1681 datierten Leinwand desselben Sujets und ähnlicher Maße auf, die sich früher in der Sammlung Lemme befand und heute im Museo del Barocco romano im Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia aufbewahrt wird. Das vorliegende Werk lässt sich ebenfalls der reifen Schaffensphase Lauris zuordnen und ist ein Beispiel für sein Schaffen mit mythologischen und ritterlichen Sujets im Kabinettformat, das von römischen Adelssammlungen bevorzugt wurde.
