Ein Blatt aus einer illuminierten Koran-Handschrift mit der Sure Al-Fatiha, Safawidenreich Das zentrale Feld ist mit schwarzer Tinte mit der Sure Al-Fatiha beschriftet, umrahmt von floralen und geometrischen Motiven in satten Blau- und Rottönen und mit vergoldeten Verzierungen (Goldpulver) hervorgehoben. Tinte auf Papier, auf Karton aufgezogen. Leichte, altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren. Höhe: 30,5 cm; Breite: 18,5 cm Provenienz: Sammlung von Joseph Wallersteiner (1911–2001). Durch Erbschaft in den Besitz des derzeitigen Eigentümers übergegangen. Anmerkungen: Angesichts ihrer gemeinsamen Provenienz gehörten die Manuskripte wahrscheinlich einst zur Bibliothek von Scheich Ali Abu al-Mawahib, dem ehemaligen Mufti von Jaffa.
