Begräbnisfigur (Mingqi) einer Hofdame aus Terrakotta, China, Tang-Zeit (618–906) Die Hofdame wird stehend dargestellt, gekleidet in ein langes, an der Taille tailliertes Gewand; um die Schultern ist ihr ein Tuch drapiert, das am Körper herabfällt. Ihr Gesicht weist feine Züge, mandelförmige Augen, geschwungene Augenbrauen und einen kleinen Mund auf. Eine teilweise mit Goldpigmenten verzierte Halskette schmückt ihren Ausschnitt, und ihr Haar ist zu einem für diese Epoche typischen hohen Dutt frisiert. Mit beiden Händen hält sie eine Schatulle auf einem Tuch. Im Gesicht und auf der Kleidung sind Reste von schwarzen, roten und grünen Pigmenten zu erkennen. Höhe: 42 cm Restaurierung. Provenienz: Galerie Jacques Barrère, Paris, 1998 (Kopie eines Gutachtens). Thermolumineszenz-Test, ausgestellt vom Research Laboratory for Archaeology – Oxford – Nr. 566a89 – 20. Dezember 1989 (Kopie).
