ERINNERUNGSSTÜCK AN DEN FLIEGER DIEUDONNE COSTES Füllfederhalter der Marke Waterman aus Ebonit und Gold, gestempelt mit 785 und dem Goldschmiedesiegel S&S. Er ist mit dem Namen Dieudonné Costes und der Inschrift „Souvenir de Robert Dreyfus Mexiko 29. Januar–4. Februar 1928“ graviert. Länge: 11,3 cm Goldfeder. Bruttogewicht: 23,6 g Hergestellt um 1928. Hintergrund: Im Anschluss an ihre erste Überquerung des Südatlantiks (1927) reisten Dieudonné COSTES und Joseph LE BRIX, die im Rahmen ihrer Weltreise durch Südamerika unterwegs waren, zwischen Guatemala und Mexiko-Stadt, eine Strecke von 1.080 Kilometern. Sie kamen am 29. Januar 1928 an. Nach Feierlichkeiten und Ehrungen, darunter die Übergabe unseres Füllfederhalters, brachen sie wieder auf und legten die Strecke von Mexiko-Stadt nach New Orleans (USA) zurück, was einer Entfernung von 1.580 Kilometern entsprach.
