Präsentiert alte Restaurierungen und Mangel an Polychromie. "W. KOEKKOEK, 61". Apokryphe Signatur. Maße: 82 x 112 cm; 113 x 143 cm (Rahmen). Diese bukolische Szene aus dem 19. Jahrhundert verbindet die ländliche Beschaulichkeit mit der unverwechselbaren Inspiration und Prägung des niederländischen Malers Willem Koekkoek, der im Gegensatz zu seinen Landschaftsverwandten die Architektur in den Vordergrund stellt. Auf dem Gemälde sind die Steinbrücke und die Wohnhäuser keine bloßen Requisiten, sondern visuelle Anker, die das Alltägliche in ein malerisches Monument verwandeln und die Interaktion des Menschen mit seiner Umgebung durch eine meisterhafte Nutzung des Lichts auf den gealterten Texturen hervorheben.
