Dial: Black. Movm.: Manual. The Corum "Golden Bridge" is much more than just a wristwatch, it is a true piece of horological art. The unique linear arrangement of the movement, which appears to float inside the fully skeletonised case certainly raises the bar in terms of design and technology. The prototype was created in 1977 by gifted master watchmaker Vincent Calabrese, and was later bought by Corum, who based their legendary Golden Bridge on Calabrese’s design. The most distinctive feature of this watch is the vertical baguette movement, appearing as a slim golden bridge in the transparent case. The sapphire crystal front and back allow perfect visibility of the high precision movement. To mark the 30th anniversary of the Golden Bridge, Corum released a special edition in 2010: the Golden Bridge Black Baton Limited Edition, executed in a tonneau-shaped 18 K red gold case with flowing curves and an inverted black dial featuring faceted baton-style arrow indices. As always, the exquisitely built movement with its hand-engraved bridges and plates takes centre stage. Comprising 140 components, it measures only about 30 mm in length and offers a 40 hour power reserve. The Corum Golden Bridge, Reference 113.770.55, was produced in 2010 in a limited run of 99 to 166 pieces, depending on the specific dial and material of the case. Case: as new. Dial: as new.
