WELLINGTON (Arthur Wellesley, Herzog von) 26. Mai 1806.. Eigenhändiger Brief, signiert „Arthur Wellesley“ 1 Seite in-12. Privater Brief bezüglich eines wichtigen Treffens. „Ich habe Sie heute Morgen aufgesucht, um Sie zu bitten, am Freitag [?] im India [?] gegen den Antrag zu erscheinen, und dass Sie diejenigen, auf die Sie Einfluss haben, dazu bewegen, ebenfalls zu erscheinen [?]. Ich hoffe, dass Sie mir diesen Gefallen tun werden.“ Arthur Wellesley, der 1805 aus Indien zurückgekehrt war, wurde 1806 als Tory ins Unterhaus gewählt. Seine politische Karriere fand ein jähes Ende, als er sich auf dem Kontinent in den Napoleonischen Kriegen engagierte. Kleiner, auf die Rückseite des Briefes geklebter Papiersrahmen.
