Das Erscheinen dieses Memoirenbandes fiel mit der vom Centre Georges Pompidou von Juni bis Oktober 1988 organisierten Ausstellung zusammen, die im Anschluss an die Schenkung von Jacqueline und Bernard Gheerbrant stattfand. Eines von 85 Exemplaren auf Lana-Chiffon-Velin, einzige Luxusauflage, begleitet von einer signierten Original-Radierung von Pierre Alechinsky (Nr. 67). Im Kapitel „Un homme seul, Henri Michaux“ (S. 100–105) erwähnt Bernard Gheerbrant insbesondere Jacques-Olivier Fourcade, den Freund des Dichters und den heimlichen Herausgeber von „Nous deux encore“.
