Vorstellung des Auktionshauses

Founded in 1674, Stockholms Auktionsverk is the world’s oldest auction house and a cornerstone of the Nordic art and antiques market. With the largest network of branches in Sweden and an established international presence in Germany and Finland, we serve as a dynamic marketplace for Swedish and international cultural heritage.

For more than 350 years, we have been entrusted with objects that reflect the evolution of taste, craftsmanship, and history—from Baroque and Rococo to Gustavian design, once contemporary and now timeless. Our clients have included notable cultural figures such as August Strindberg and Selma Lagerlöf, as well as members of the Swedish royal court. This legacy continues to guide our commitment to expertise, authenticity, and long-term value.

In 2025, Uppsala Auktionskammare—one of the Nordic region’s most respected auction houses, founded in 1731—was fully integrated into Stockholms Auktionsverk. This milestone brings together Sweden’s most prestigious auction traditions under one brand, creating the most comprehensive and high-quality auction offering in the Nordics, supported by the country’s largest and most distinguished team of specialists.

Today, Stockholms Auktionsverk is part of Auctionet, whose digital platform connects over one million registered buyers across more than 180 countries. This unique combination of deep-rooted heritage and global digital reach enables us to offer an unparalleled auction experience.

Despite our scale, our approach remains personal. Through our extensive network of locations, we ensure direct access to expert specialists who guide clients through important life moments—from estate valuations and collections to new acquisitions. With knowledge, discretion, and care, we help objects transition into new chapters, preserving their stories for future generations.

Our core values—Knowledge, Customer Focus, Respect, and Innovation—are at the heart of everything we do. They shape a trusted and professional environment where both buyers and sellers feel confident.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to leading the evolution of the auction industry. By combining tradition with innovation, we are building a high-quality circular marketplace for the future—an inspiring universe where cultural heritage is valued, and where collectors and generations meet.
