Belgian painter, ceramicist, sculptor, graphic designer and interior designer. Saint-Luc Higher Institute (Hoger Sint-Lukasinstituut) in Ghent. He also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ostend. Themes and style: Figures of fishermen, marine animals (fish, birds), still lifes and landscapes rendered in a style that oscillates between Cubism, hyperrealism and decorative stylisation. An artist who appeals to many. Jan De Lee’s pictorial world is rich and complex. He explores colour and texture with intensity and consistency.
