Chinese vase, 15th-16th century. Blue and white porcelain. Measurements: 17 cm. diameter. Chinese porcelain vase in cylindrical shape and narrow mouth, decorated with elements of traditional Chinese landscape around its body. Porcelain known for its chromatism as "cobalt blue" or "blue on white", originally from China, would be highly appreciated in Europe from its early importation. It was not, however, until the mid-17th century that exports began in China, and blue and white porcelain was among the first to arrive directly in Europe.
