HIERONYMUS (St) Sanctus Hieronymus interpres biblie. Biblia cum concordantiis Veteris et Novi Testamenti et sacrorum canonum, necnon et additionibus in marginibus varietatis diversorum textuum, ac etiam canonibus antiquis quattuor evangeliorum insertis summa cum diligentia revisa correcta & emendata. (some foxing and soiling, upper margin of 1st ff. water stained, sm. holes in last f. reinforced but with some losses, occ. ms. annot.). 17th-c. calf, roll-st. and blind-st. covers, spine with raised bands (rubbed, corners and spine repaired, joints loosening, modern flyleaves). Bible with the commentaries of St. Jerome richly illustrated with ca. 140 woodcuts, two of which are full-page, copied from those of the famous Bible of Nicolo Malermi published by Ragazzo in Venice in 1490. This edition of the Vulgate derives from the Venice edition of Lucantonio Giunta annotated by Alberto Castellano (28 May 1511). The canons of the Gospels are printed in red and black.
