Centrepiece CRISTALERIE FAINS-LES-SOURCES (France, 1864-1978). Moulded and pressed glass. Signed on the outside of the base. Procedure: Private Collection, Spain between 1970-1990. Measurements: 35 cm (diameter); 7 cm (height). Pressed moulded tabletop centrepiece, decorated with geometric shapes on a background of flowers. It is a vessel raised on a circular base determined by the large surface of the flange, which rises slightly in a slope. In 1864, Auguste Schmid, a man from the Vosges, bought an old brewery on the road to Vitry, in Fains, with the aim of transforming it into a glass factory. Over the years, the factory took off and became an important centre of glass production until 1978.
