Jacques Callot (1592-1635) Ritratto del Principe di Phalsbourg. 1621-1624 circa. Acquaforte e bulino. 338 x 288 mm. Lieure 505. Splendida e brillante stampa su carta vergata filigranata (leone stellato, Lieure 38), parzialmente rifilata sul bordo sinistro della tavola, con i bordi del rame molto inchiostrati. Piccola annotazione (cifra) a matita nell’angolo inferiore sinistro della tavola. Un’ampia macchia di ossidazione molto chiara sulla montagna a destra. Piega morbida obliqua nell’angolo inferiore destro del soggetto. Piccoli resti di un precedente montaggio e tracce di colla ossidata negli angoli superiori sul retro. Impronta di un’altra prova sul retro. Margini stretti su tre lati. Timbro AABM (Lugt 3075). Il personaggio raffigurato è Luigi di Lorena (1588-1631), barone di Ancerville, con il titolo di principe di Phalsbourg.
