Edizione originale, corredata da 5 tavole pieghevoli. L’autore, preside del collegio di Bar-sur-Ornain (antico nome di Bar-le-Duc nella Meuse), città in cui l’opera è stata stampata, è l’inventore di una «sfera mobile» che propone in vendita tramite sottoscrizione: Gli accessori [sic], i cerchi e il piedistallo saranno realizzati con la massima cura: i signori sottoscrittori riceveranno una copia del compendio sulla Sfera, seguita dalla descrizione del meccanismo, che il signor Delambre ha avuto la gentilezza di esaminare. [...] Questa Sfera mobile ha un diametro di oltre un metro e mezzo. La descrizione della sua macchina occupa le pagine 37-55.
