Vaso di Yoichi Ohira "Pezzo unico" Murano, 1998. Progetto di Yoichi Ohira, realizzazione a cura del maestro vetraio Livio Serena. Pezzo unico. Corpo sferico con collo corto e stretto. Soffiato con bacchette di vetro nero e rosso, con inclusioni di polvere di vetro, superficie opaca. Sulla spalla, strisce che si irradiano dal collo; sulla parete, fregi circolari composti da campi rettangolari neri con cornice rossa. Bordo del collo in rosso opaco. Firma incisa e dicitura «19.11.1998 Murano Yoichi Ohira - m° L. Serena 1/1». Altezza 22,5 cm Yoichi Ohira (1946–2022) giunse a Venezia dal Giappone nel 1973 e dal 1987 fu direttore artistico della vetreria De Majo. A partire dalla metà degli anni ’90, insieme al maestro vetraio Livio Serena, ha realizzato soprattutto pezzi unici che uniscono il linguaggio formale giapponese alle tecniche vetrarie veneziane. Le sue opere sono conservate, tra l’altro, al Metropolitan Museum of Art e al Corning Museum of Glass, e nel 2025 Magazzino Italian Art ha presentato la sua prima retrospettiva.
