Riprodotto in: Wilhelm von Gloeden, Capolavori dalle collezioni Alinari, Alinari, Firenze 2000, p. 80. - Archivi Alinari, Firenze: GWA-F-000773-0000. - Ritratto su rotolo raffigurante il giovane Nerone di Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931), che condivideva con suo cugino Wilhelm (Guglielmo) Plüschow (1852-1930) condivideva la passione per «scene arcadiche con bei giovani e belle fanciulle» (Peter Weiermair nella prefazione a: Guglielmo Plüschow, Fotografie erotiche, Colonia, Taschen, 1993). - La fotografia, un tempo incorniciata, presenta lievi segni di stampa agli angoli; nell’angolo in alto a sinistra è visibile il timbro da collezione apposto sul retro. - Provenienza: probabilmente acquistata nel 1890 durante un viaggio in Italia dal pittore Theodor Her (1838-1892), anch’egli dedito alla fotografia di nudi maschili; da allora di proprietà della sua famiglia, lascito di Hans von Hoermann.
