19th-century sculptor David with the Head of Goliath (after Andrea del Verrocchio) terracotta 116 x 47.2 x 38 cm Although the overall pose follows the iconography of the Renaissance master, there is a notable difference compared to the Bargello sculpture: in the original bronze work, the young David holds a long sword in his right hand, the blade of which points obliquely downward (absent here); the severed head of the giant Goliath is a separate work.
