Inlaid wooden center desk, Sicily, second half of the 18th century 77 x 107 x 66 cm The top features a rich and complex mirrored decoration structured into two large panels, each centered by a circular rosette with an umbrella motif made of different types of wood. All around, a hypnotic geometric background unfolds, composed of dense broken lines whose arrangement creates a three-dimensional optical effect. The outer perimeter of the top and the central dividing line are defined by herringbone frames, which enclose the two decorative modules. The front features a pull-out shelf covered in worn leather and a central drawer flanked by two column drawers on the sides; the same arrangement characterizes the back. Tapered legs.
