Leather-covered wooden sedan chair with carved and gilded decorative reliefs, 18th century 170 x 77 x 90 cm The upper section is closed by a slightly curved cover, topped at the corners by decorative swirls dominated by small corollas and pine cones. All the corners, the upper section, and the window surrounds are finished with meticulously carved wooden frames in relief, shaped like laurel wreaths. At the center of the lower section of each side is a large circular festoon featuring an elaborate decorative motif of opposing cornucopias intertwined around a caduceus. Visible on the sides are metal loops for the wooden poles used by the bearers to lift the sedan chair. Along the base and at the corners are additional gilded decorative details in the shape of lilies and fluttering ribbons. The interior is upholstered in red silk damask, a striking contrast to the exterior, and a lockable chest is located beneath the seat. The structure rests on a slightly protruding, arched square base, supported by four small corner feet sculpted in the shape of dolphins. Unlike many traditional sedan chairs with rectangular windows, this one features three large circular openings, positioned on both sides and on the front door, which serve as windows. The top has some decorative parts missing from the corners, which have been preserved separately for future repositioning.
