1084 - BOMHOUWER, Christian Indulgence printed on vellum. Cologne s.n. 1509 C. 16,5 x 22,5 cm, vellum, Latin, with ms. additions (verso blank). Under passe-partout (sl. soiling). Extremely rare (unique?) indulgence for combating "heresies" in Livonia, issued 20 April 1509 in the name of Pope Julius II by the Estonian canonist Christian Bomhouver or Baumhauer (Reval 1468-1518 Dorpat). At the time Bomhouver was secretary for Livonia to Frederick of Saxony, who in the years 1498-1510 was "Hochmeister" of the Teutonic Order; later Bomhouver became bishop of Dorpat. The recipient’s name was added in ink (largely faded). A similar indulgence dated 23 November 1507 is preserved in the Diözesanarchiv Köln. Ref.
