Designed by Belgian designer Frans Van Praet for the Belgian Pavilion at the 1992 Seville Universal Exposition, the Sevilla chair is characterized by a highly graphic construction combining tubular metal, perforated sheet metal and curved lines. The backrest extends beneath the seat to form a perforated envelope, giving the chair a silhouette that is both architectural and visually light. The model reflects the innovative spirit of Belgian design at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, as well as the distinctive production of Belgo Chrom, a Belgian manufacturer particularly associated with metal furniture and postmodern design.
