Domaine Hubert Lignier, Morey-Saint-Denis, Trilogie, 2019 (4 x 750ml) Region: Burgundy Fill Level: excellent Capsule: ok Cork: ok Label: excellent appearance Domaine Hubert Lignier, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Poisets, 2019 (4 x 750ml) Region: Burgundy Fill Level: excellent Capsule: ok Cork: ok Label: excellent appearance Domaine Hubert Lignier, Pommard, En Brescul, 2019 (4 x 750ml) Region: Burgundy Fill Level: excellent Capsule: ok Cork: ok Label: excellent appearance Packaging: original carton Notes: The Trilogie cuvée takes its name from the blend of three climats located from north to south of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis: Chenevery (60% of the grapes come from there), Clos Solon (15%) and Les Porroux (25%). The vines, planted in 1936, 1942, 1964 and 1972 and covering a total of one hectare, are characterised by a relatively low yield due to their age. The wines made from them are richly coloured, dense and fleshy, and have an ageing potential of 20 years. On the 34-are parcel from which the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets comes, the vines were planted in 1947. Bought by the estate in 2010, it is nestled just below the 1er cru Les Cailles, one of the most renowned of the appellation. The wines that Domaine Hubert Lignier draws from its small bunches affected by millerandage are concentrated, floral and elegant. The climat En Brescul is located in the north of Pommard: on the upper slopes close to Beaune, it overlooks the Clos des Mouches. This terroir is characterised by a very steep slope, as the toponym of the climat illustrates; it is said to designate, in Old French, a vine parcel with a steep incline or else the markedly bent posture of the winegrower working these steep slopes. The estate's vineyard was planted in 1997 and is spread over 3 terraces to cope with the sharp gradient of the land. This 41-are parcel joined the estate in 2014. Counted among the exceptional vintages, 2019 stands out for a rare balance. After a mild winter, a cold April and a favourable spring, June turns out cool and rainy. The summer, sunny and at times scorching, is saved by the August rains, which promote even ripening. With remarkable phenolic ripeness, the grapes are harvested as early as 17 September at the estate. 2019 is distinguished by its outstanding ageing potential and by wines combining depth, density, structure, freshness and finesse.
