Segunda edición, tras la original de 1735, de la obra principal del historiador alemán Baring (1690-1735) dedicada a la investigación histórica y paleográfica. Está ilustrada con 33 láminas de facsímiles de escritura antigua extraídas de documentos de cancillería, actas notariales, cartas, etc., que datan de la Edad Media y del siglo XVI. Sello húmedo tachado en la portada. Algunas manchas de oxidación y pequeñas manchas en la cubierta delantera, sin importancia.
